Mission statement: The role of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is to provide a holistic Catholic, Christian environment that serves the soul, mind, and body of each child. Within this environment, religious traditions are celebrated, intellectual skills are developed, critical thinking is encouraged, and students are prepared to make a vital contribution to a changing society.
Facts:
- Our Lady of Mount Carmel offers students a comprehensive curriculum with an emphasis on reading, math, writing, spelling, science and social studies. Students also study geography, literature, fine arts, technology skills, and Spanish. Students that need additional academic support have access to a reading and math specialist.
- Our Lady of Mount Carmel provides 1:1 Chromebooks for all students in 5th-8th grade and all students have access to Chromebook technology and the Google Apps for Education Suite.
- Our Lady of Mount Carmel students are involved in multiple volunteer and service activities during the year through the Works of Mercy campaign and by partnering with St. Vincent de Paul, I-Help and other local organizations.
- Our Lady of Mount Carmel offers students a variety of extracurricular opportunities through scouting, clubs and special programs including Art Masterpiece, MathCounts, Little Flowers & Little Women, JPIII club, chess club, guitar and choir. In addition, students in 5th-8th grade may participate in after school sports including volleyball, flag football, boys’ and girls’ basketball, baseball and softball.
